“I can’t hear you!”
“I know…”
He softly said as he walked back into the room with a smirk. He was overall done with most of the conversation.
“But what did you say?!”
He turned around and poked his head out the door,
“I will be right back, I need to give this to my mother. She isn’t able to move right now and needs something in her system.”
He handed a mug of hot liquid to his mother, stayed to watch her take a sip, and then exited the room.
“Is your Mother okay?”
“She’s a bit better today, she can’t hold herself up for the moment so she is resting on her side drinking a coffee.”
EARLIER THAT WEEK
“How are you able to carry that?!”
“Very carefully.”
“Seriously? I’ve been meaning to ask. Some days you are ridiculously strong – other days you are a zombie. What’s the catch?”
“I really don’t know. I get ridiculed a lot about it because no one believes me. There are certain times of the month where I cannot move and other times where I can. It’s that simple. I use my energy accordingly.”
“Does it hurt?”
“What?”
“Does it hurt you? Do you feel pain from this?”
“Yes. My body feels like constant electricity flowing through it. When the electricity is too much, I cannot move. When it calms down, I am able to get up and do what I need to with the energy I have.”
“I didn’t realize. Everyone kept saying you were a hermit and didn’t like to leave the house.”
“Nobody asks. They always assume.”
